In 1962 I was a young man, trying to figure out who I was, and looking for a little excitement. I joined the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), and lived the “NO LIFE LIKE IT” lifestyle for the next 12 years before moving on to Transport Canada (Aviation) where I worked for the next 21 years in Air Navigation Services as an Electronics Technologist.

In 1995 I retired from Transport, did a little consulting work in Australia, took a job for a couple of years with Hughes Aircraft, then retired again in 1997. Bags and baggage in hand, my wife Cathy and I moved to the beautiful Okanagan Valley region of British Columbia. I had visions of pursuing a long neglected game of golf, and doing some writing. For many years I had wanted to get a few of the ideas and thoughts that had been rumbling around my head onto paper. I’ve managed to do that, and these pages contain some of those thoughts. I hope you enjoy them.

For those of you who know Cathy, she loves her Okanagan retirement home as well. When not enjoying camping in our fifth wheel trailer, she keeps herself busy doing crafts, sewing, and recreational walking.  Eleven years later we continue to enjoy the weather, the wine, and the bad golf.

Over the last forty odd years, we have lived in every region of Canada, including a year in an Inuit Hamlet in the North West Territories.  From the red clay shores of Prince Edward Island to the frozen tundra of the North West Territories; from Ontario, Quebec, and the windblown golden prairies, to the majestic beauty of British Columbia, all of Canada has been our home.
